I love meeting people in many different environments - on the road, on tea estates, in fishing villages in Africa, in jungles, on dhows in Zanzibar. I love mixing with crowds in Eastern markets. I love camping - cutting down to the bare essentials - and finding out about the lives of the people I encounter in out-of-the-way places. I struggle continually to balance this side of my nature with the comfort-loving side. Eventually, it always seems, the wanderlust wins, and I set out on my travels again." Zara Travel

We can highly recommend the services of Zara Travel again. They were instrumental in getting the guides and the safari booked. They were accomodated our vegetarian palette, were helpful when things didn't go right and best of all were affordable. You can contact the representative of Zara Travel in the United States by visiting their web site at http://www.zaratravel.com.

Airline Travel

While we all used different travel agencies, I'd like to plug the Adventure Travel Company who were incredibly helpful in getting the original flights sorted out through Emirates. In the end three of us went with ATC here in Edmonton but it was their hardwork which found the cheapest tickets in the first place...

Our Guides

Our lead guide was Victor Shirima. By our own judgement, he was one of the most involved guides we met along our trek. Victor would teach us to sing in Swahili, play cards with us and generally we really really liked him. You can contact Victor directly by email.
